MIRC Doctoral trainees awarded prestigious CIHR Doctoral Graduate Scholarship
The Canadian Graduate Scholarship – Doctoral program awards support highly-qualified doctoral candidates all across Canadian Institutions. This award totals $105,000 over 3 years of study. This year, the Canadian Institute of Health Research has awarded this prestigious award to two MIRC PhD candidates.
Congratulations to Nickolas Serniuck, a PhD student studying under Jonathan Bramson, and Kevin Zhao, an MD/PhD candidate studying under Dawn Bowdish!
Nicholas will be investigating how to generate off-the-shelf T-cell cancer immunotherapy using covalent immune recruiters. Kevin Zhao is studying how inflammation TNF impairs macrophage killing of Streptococcus pneumoniae.
